The 6 track Free EP was released in a limited run of 100 professionally manufactured CD-R's in December 2006, ahead of the remix album Transatlantic. The versions on this release are not officially available anywhere else. The Tenth Stage remix of Free on Transatlantic is an edit of the extended version included here. Don't Feel That Way appears here in it's original arrangement, which preceeded what was a radically remixed version for the single release and Atlantic album. The alternate version of Sanctify is a different mix with different drums. The extended remix of Military Option by Boxcar is unavailable anywhere else, and the extended version of Marianne mirrors the version which the band had often played live, and previously released in earlier form on a cassette release in 1996.

The Tenth Stage remix of Free was reworked with changes to the arrangement, plus additional guitar and synth parts for Tycho Brahe's live shows in 2024, supporting The Human League on a national tour of Australia.
